Here’s what happened when the team had to go under quarantine in Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 episode 7. Brooklyn Nine-Nine arrived on Fox in 2013 and is a sitcom that follows the oddball detectives in the titular precinct. The main focus of the show is Jake Peralta, who is a Die Hard obsessed cop who is great at his job, but his somewhat childish attitude means he has to work hard to impress the stern Captain Holt. Jake has come a long way throughout the series, which has also given the supporting characters a chance to shine.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine has earned a solid fanbase since it debuted, but the ride almost came to an end when Fox cancelled the show following the fifth season. Thankfully, after a fan outcry, NBC picked it up and its currently on its seventh season. Part of what makes the show so successful is while it can get goofy or over the top, it isn’t afraid to get a little emotional or earnest from time to time either.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 episode 7 “Lockdown” is something of a bottle episode, where the building is placed under quarantine when Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) comes across a package filled with a mystery powder, which spoils everyone’s Thanksgiving plans. With Holt having left just before the lockdown with Terry, Jake is left in charge - naturally, hijinks ensure.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 episode 7 “Lockdown” see Jake trying to hide the potential severity of the situation from the civilians locked in with them. He initially does a smooth job of keeping everyone happy and complying with their demands for food and warmth, but eventually, his authority is questioned. When he secretly reveals to a lawyer threatening to leave that the powder hasn’t been identified yet, the lawyer immediately spills the beans to everyone else and causes a panic Jake can’t control.

The main subplot of Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 episode 7 “Lockdown” sees Holt and Terry in the latter’s house, keeping an eye on the quarantine remotely. Terry’s bullying brother-in-law Zeke stops giving him a hard time and bonds with him for the first time, with Zeke mistakenly believing Holt to be a terrible boss; Terry milks this for all its worth. Back in the station, Jake finally takes Amy’s advice and stops trying to please everyone. He admits the truth about the powder and asks for calm, but threatens anybody who tries to leave with arrest.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 episode 7 “Lockdown” ends with the powder being revealed to be harmless, and Jake once again learning a valuable lesson about leadership. “Lockdown” wasn’t the most memorable episode of the second season, but it was a solid entry none the less.
