Bradley Cooper’s first hit the big screen in the 2001 ensemble comedy Wet Hot American Summer; however, it was around the end of that decade he began to rise to fame. The Place Beyond the Pines
This 2012 crime tragedy drama tells the story of a motorcycle stuntman who learns he has a child after getting back together with his ex-girlfriend. In order to support his son, he gets involved in crime. However, this leads him to eventually get into a serious fight with a rookie police officer that ends up creating huge consequences that can’t be undone.
While Ryan Gosling plays the stuntman and Eva Mendes plays the girlfriend, Bradley Cooper plays officer Avery Cross.
American Sniper (7.3)
Bradley Cooper took on the role of U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle in this biographical war drama. Kyle is successful overseas, becoming one of the most lethal snipers in history. However, his home life isn’t as successful, where he finds that moving on from the war is a challenge.
Cooper served as the main character while Sienna Miller played his wife, Taya Kyle. His expert portrayal had him receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.
Limitless (7.4)
This 2011 sci-fi thriller had Bradley Cooper playing the role of a writer who uses a drug that lets him fully use his brain, thereby bettering his life. Though things get brighter on the surface for Eddie, he soon learns the dark side of relying on a drug.
Limitless ended up receiving a TV series based on the original film. Though Cooper’s character is not the main character, he does appear in it from time to time.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 (7.6)
Though Bradley Cooper made his debut as Rocket Raccoon in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, he returned in 2017 for an out-of-this-world sequel. In this film, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and the other Guardians team together to help out the Sovereign alien race by protecting their batteries.
However, after Rocket snatches the items they were sent to guard, the crew must defend themselves. As these events play out, Quill also begins to learn the mysteries behind his parents. A third film in the Guardians series is on the way, with filming set to begin in 2020.
Silver Linings Playbook (7.7)
This 2012 romantic comedy-drama has Bradley Cooper starring opposite of Jenifer Lawrence. He plays a man with bipolar disorder named Pat, who moves in with his parents following his visit to a psychiatric hospital. Soon after returning home, Pat sets his sites on winning back the affections of his wife.
However, he also soon finds himself getting intertwined in a dancing competition with a young widow who promises to help him fix his marriage in exchange for his help. Cooper received a nomination for Best Actor at the Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards for his portrayal.
The Hangover (7.7)
This 2009 comedy film tells of groomsmen who head to Las Vegas for some wild memories before Doug (Justin Bartha) becomes a married man. However, after the guys wake up with no memories of the wild night the next day and realize that the groom himself is missing, the three remaining friends must track him down before his big day passes by.
The group is rounded out by Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, and of course, Bradley Cooper. Yes, the original cast did return for the two sequels.
A Star Is Born (7.7)
Music star Jackson Maine ends up falling in love with young artist Ally and the voice she is so lucky to possess. As he pushes her further into the spotlight, though, he deals with his own insecurities and addictions that shadow his success.
While Lady Gaga played the role of Ally in this reboot, Bradley Cooper played the boy of her dreams. The strong performance had Cooper earning a Best Actor nomination at the Academy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards.
Guardians Of The Galaxy (8.0)
The aforementioned Rocket Raccoon first hit the screen in the original Guardians movie. In it, the space-traveling Peter Quill finds himself on the run after he snatches an orb from the villainous Ronan.
In order to do this, he teams up with a group of misfits, including a tree creature named Groot, an alien named Gamora, and a warrior known as Drax the Destroyer. Oh yeah, and then there’s the sassy genetically-engineered raccoon we’ve all come to know and love joining in on the fun.
Avengers: Infinity War (8.5)
The superheroes team together to take on their biggest battle yet against the powerful Thanos who plans to wipe out and dominate the world. The villain sets out to collect the six Infinity Stones that will put fate in his hands; however, the Avengers set out to do the same before he can.
Cooper’s Rocket Raccoon, as well as Groot, end up following Thor to Nidavellir, where they attempt to create an ax with the power to kill Thanos.
Avengers: Endgame (8.5)
Lastly, the final installment in the Avengers franchise once again had Bradley Cooper reprising his role as Rocket Raccoon. In Endgame, the gang comes back together in an attempt to reverse the destruction Thanos has let out on the world.
In order to do this, they decide to travel back in time to collect the Infinity Stones in an attempt to change the fate of humanity. However, messing with time doesn’t come without its costs. Rocket teams up with Thor to travel to a 2013 version of Asgard in an attempt to retrieve the Reality Stone from Jane Foster.
